During the social and experiential education days in Tübingen, HELLER junior staff had the opportunity to get to know each other better before starting their first ‘real’ working day at the company on 12 September 2025. The young people were officially welcomed by CEO Dr. Thorsten Schmidt, the entire HELLER training team led by Head of Training Martin Schmeckenbecher, the works council and its vice-chairman Rainer Hoffmann as well as the youth and trainee representatives.
We are proud to have you on board at HELLER. Consider your training as an important building block in your long career at HELLER. And take the opportunity to ask us any questions you may have. This is the only way you can shape your path at HELLER in line with your goals and achieve success," said CEO Dr. Thorsten Schmidt, expressing his thoughts at the start of the new training and academic year.
"Today marks the start of a new and exciting chapter in your lives. You have chosen a path that will advance you not only professionally, but also personally. Vocational training is much more than just acquiring specialist knowledge and practical skills. It is a decisive step towards independence. Training also means taking responsibility – for your own development and for the tasks you take on in the company. It is a time of growth and development in which you can discover and build on your strengths. Make the most of this time. You are our investment in the industry and in our company. And we believe in our future," said Deputy Works Council Chairman Rainer Hoffmann in his official welcome speech.
In his welcoming speech, Training Manager Martin Schmeckenbecher focused in particular on team spirit: “At HELLER, we offer both qualified vocational training and a friendly and appreciative atmosphere that makes work enjoyable. The ”we" has always been very important in our team. And it will remain so, because only together can we be successful. We are all learning together with you. You learn from us, and we learn from you. This requires open and honest communication."
